Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her home town. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's parents relocated her and their children into Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. The family didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious reader and spent her time reading books as she had no television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her teenage years. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actor would be able to bring about change. But, unfortunately, that didn't take place. However, she continued to pursue her dreams. In 1988, she received her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was a star in numerous films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running twice for Academy Awards.
